DJI Phantom 4 specifications and features. The big news is obviously the new Obstacle Sensing System. This uses ultrasonic sensors (as on the Phantom 3 Pro, but improved so it works up to 10m off the ground) plus four extra cameras: two front facing and two downward facing. Mechanical shutter makes mapping missions or regular data capture seamless as the Phantom 4 RTK can move while taking pictures without the risk of rolling shutter blur. Due to the high resolution, the Phantom 4 RTK can achieve a ground sample distance (GSD) of 2.74 cm at 100 meters flight altitude. The Phantom 4 camera has been improved in terms of image quality. Chromatic aberration has been reduced by 56% and lens distortion had been reduced by 36% compared to Phantom 3 Professional. The lineup of the Mavic Pro – the fold-up drone – plus the Phantom 4 and Phantom 4 Pro didn’t appear to need another model. The P4A replaces the Phantom 4 so the range isn’t increasing in size. Yet the new drone’s specifications are hard to tell apart from the Phantom 4 Pro.
The focal length of the Phantom 4 Pro is 8.8 mm. Why does the Pix4D camera profile show 8.60423? Also what is the actual sensor width for the camera? DJI’s website does not give this information.
