At stake is the ultimate prize: control of the land and succession of the HOMM 3 had some great features which should have been better implemented(the "Might" and "Magic" dichotomy for heroes could have been done much better. Some of the hero types in some towns/factions do not make a lot of sense and some units and unit upgrades also make no sense such as Cyclops(replacing trolls) as the boulder throwing units. In the Version from GOG there is no Heroes2W , only Heroes".CFG / Heroes2 or Heroes of Might and Magic 2 GOLD. Since the old version of HOMM 2 didnt work, I bought the one from GOG . Sci-fi. Might and Magic. Heroes of Might and Magic II Gold was a video game bundle that consisted of Heroes of Might and Magic II: The Succession Wars and its expansion, The Price of Loyalty. In addition, it included 25 new maps. The bundle was released by 3DO in 1998.
I think that might work for HoMM I as well, but I don't know (discarded HoMM I CD after upgrading to Windows 98 a decade ago). For HoMM III, just go to the HoMM III folder, and then go to the MP3 subfolder. These work for me. My versions are a Succession Wars CD from '96 and a Heroes 3 Complete CD from 2000 (?) for HoMM II and HoMM III HEROES OF MIGHT AND MAGIC 5: HAMMERS OF FATE v2.01 [ALL] *PROPER WORKING* NO-DVD/FIXED EXE (3.14MB) No-CD & No-DVD Patch troubleshooting: The most common problem getting a No-CD/No-DVD patch to work is ensuring that the No-CD/No-DVD patch matches you're game version, because the games exe is changed when a patch update is applied previous HvDVj.
