Ifyou'll be staying in Ljubljana for a couple of days and planing to do those day trips then really do yourself a favor and do rent a car. From Ljubljana to Postojna Caves and Predjama Castle is a 40 min car drive, and a 2 h bus ride. From Ljubljana to Koper it's a 1 h car ride and almost 2,5 h bus ride.
